Last checked: 17 October 2026, by Jules Ashby. Temperature, rainfall, rain-day and humidity figures are the World Meteorological Organization’s 1991–2020 climate normals for the Phatthaya weather station (WMO 48461). Sunshine hours and records are from the climate table on Wikipedia’s Pattaya article, which credits Thailand’s Royal Irrigation Department and Thai Meteorological Department.
This page is the weather data on its own: averages for every month, from an official source, with no star ratings. If you want a verdict on when to go, including festivals, sea conditions and hotel prices, the best time to visit Pattaya guide covers that.

A rain day is a day with at least 1 mm of rain. Temperatures, rain and humidity: WMO 1991–2020 normals, Phatthaya station. Sunshine: Royal Irrigation Department, 1981–2010, via Wikipedia.
December to February: the dry months
These are the three driest months, with less than 20 mm of rain each and fewer than two rain days on average. They are also the coolest, though only by a few degrees: average lows are 23.3°C to 24.5°C and highs 30.2°C to 31.2°C. Humidity is at its lowest of the year in December (70%), and the sun is out for over seven hours a day.
March to May: the hottest months
Average highs climb to 32.0°C in March and peak at 33.0°C in April. The highest temperature on record for Pattaya is 37.3°C, in March (Thai Meteorological Department, via Wikipedia). Rain starts to build through these months, from 47.3 mm in March to 121.1 mm in May, when rain days reach nine a month.
April is also Songkran. For the festival and what it means for rooms, see the best time to visit guide.
June to August: wet, but not the wettest
Rain settles at about 90 mm to 130 mm a month, on nine or ten days. That still leaves about 20 days a month without a measurable shower. Sunshine drops to under four hours a day, so expect more cloud than in the dry months. Temperatures barely move: highs of 31.4°C to 32.0°C.
September and October: the wettest months
These two months bring 40% of Pattaya’s annual rain between them. October is the wettest month on the normals (224.5 mm over 14.4 rain days), and September is close behind (213.6 mm over 13.2). Even in October, more than half the days have less than 1 mm of rain. Humidity peaks at 83% in October.
Heavy rain can flood Pattaya’s streets: Wikipedia’s Pattaya article records torrential rain on 27 August 2021 that left many main roads under water. Have a plan B for the afternoons: the rainy day activities guide lists the indoor options, and the rainy season guide covers travelling in the wet months.
If the rain sets in, an indoor spa is one of the easier ways to fill an afternoon. GetYourGuide sells an e-voucher for Let’s Relax Spa at Terminal 21 from US$21 per person, and you contact the spa to book a time (GetYourGuide, checked 17 Oct 2026). See the Let’s Relax voucher on GetYourGuide
November: the change of season
Rain drops sharply, from 224.5 mm in October to 56.6 mm in November, and rain days fall from 14.4 to 4.0. Highs are 30.8°C. The lowest temperature on record for Pattaya, 14.6°C, was in December, the month after (Thai Meteorological Department, via Wikipedia).
How we checked
- This page is researched from published climate data, not from our own observations. On 17 Oct 2026 we read the WMO 1991–2020 climate normals data sheet for the Phatthaya station (WMO 48461), published by NOAA's National Centers for Environmental Information.
- Sunshine hours (Royal Irrigation Department, 1981–2010) and record temperatures (Thai Meteorological Department) come from the climate table in Wikipedia's Pattaya article, which matches the WMO figures for every month.
- These are 30-year averages. Any one year can be wetter or drier. For a forecast, check the Thai Meteorological Department before you travel.
- Sea conditions and hotel prices are left out because no climate source covers them. The best time to visit guide discusses both.
