The Best Beaches for Children
Jomtien Beach (my pick): Shallower approach to the water, less wave action, less vendor pressure, cleaner water. The southern (Dongtan) end is quietest. Good for children learning to swim in the sea for the first time.
Koh Larn (Coral Island): The ferry trip itself is an adventure for small kids, and the clearer water makes snorkelling actually worth doing. Tawaen Beach has very shallow water right at shore for young ones.
Pattaya Beach: The water sports vendors are relentless with children — “jet ski? banana boat?” — and it never stops. Fine for older kids who want the activity, not ideal if you want a quiet morning on the sand.
