Toei Ngam Beach (Hat Tiao Ngam)

A palm-fringed navy beach in Sattahip, 45 minutes south of Pattaya, managed by the Royal Thai Navy. Entry is free and open to foreigners, though you pass through a navy checkpoint on arrival. The water is cleaner and calmer than central Pattaya, and the beach is well-maintained. No driving to the beach on weekends — catch a songthaew instead. Foreigners must leave before 6pm. Facilities include beach chairs, a beachside restaurant and shower blocks. Quieter and less touristy than any beach within Pattaya itself.
