Jomtien after dark is the quiet option, until you turn into Jomtien Complex. The beach road is restaurants, a night market and a scatter of bars. The complex, near the north end, is a purpose-built bar district. Neither of them is Walking Street.

Two different nights
The beach road. Jomtien Beach Road has open restaurants, casual bars and the Jomtien night market. This is the evening I would send someone who wants a sea breeze and a meal, including couples and families earlier on. Chairs and jet skis are a daytime problem, covered in the beach guide. I am not quoting drink prices for individual beach bars. The boards differ, and the blogs that invent a single “Jomtien price” do not match each other.
Jomtien Complex. Also branded Supertown. It sits near the northern end of Jomtien, by Dongtan, about a 2 km ride south of central Pattaya. The district’s own site describes a tight set of LGBTQ+ bars, show bars and restaurants, and says bars there are allowed to stay open until 02:00. Walking in is free. Cabaret-style shows run in some rooms. Show times disagree between the district site and outside listings, so ask that night.
East Lounge, on the complex’s own page, prints 17:00–02:00. The Palace’s listing on the same site says drag shows on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Other names on that directory come and go. I am not going to freeze a 30-bar list.
Boyztown, on Pattayaland Soi 3 just north of Walking Street, is the other LGBTQ+ strip, in central Pattaya rather than Jomtien.
Soi 5 Jomtien is not the bar crawl
People search “Soi 5 Jomtien” and expect a nightlife street. Jomtien Soi 5 is where Chon Buri Immigration sits, off Jomtien Beach Road. That is the office for a visa extension, not a row of clubs. The bar district with its own website is Jomtien Complex, near the Dongtan end. The beach guide’s split of the sand (Dongtan, then the middle sois, then the quiet south) is about swimming, not about a Soi 5 pub street.
If a taxi driver hears “Soi 5”, you may get the immigration soi. Say Jomtien Complex, or Supertown, or give the pin.
Hours, and the ride back to town
Do not assume Jomtien runs on Walking Street’s clock. The complex’s site says 02:00 for its bars. Licensed entertainment venues in Pattaya may stay open until 4am, but that is a licence, not a neighbourhood promise, and the late clubs are on Walking Street. Ordinary bars without an entertainment licence stop alcohol sales at midnight.
The shared baht bus between Jomtien and central Pattaya is ฿15 for trips up to 10 km, ฿20 beyond, since 10 April 2026. A normal hop is inside 10 km. A parked truck that you charter is not that fare. Agree it first. After the trucks thin out, use Grab or Bolt.
Walking Street from the Dongtan end is a few kilometres, not a stroll you want at 1am. Agoda puts Walking Street about 2.9 km from Rabbit Resort. Further south is further.
Who it suits
- A quieter sleep, one night out: stay in Jomtien, eat on the beach road, and ride to Walking Street when you want clubs. The nightclubs guide is that ride.
- LGBTQ+ bars without Boyztown: Jomtien Complex.
- Couples who want the sea and an early night: beach-road dinner, then the couples nightlife guide if you still want a cabaret or a rooftop in town.
- Families: the night market and an early dinner. The complex is an adult bar district.
