Photos really don't sell the scale of this one. It's a giant Buddha laser-etched into a 130-metre cliff face and then filled with gold — made in 1996 for King Bhumibol Adulyadej's 50th year on the throne. The figure itself is 70m wide and 109m tall, which only sinks in once you're standing under it feeling very small. Pair it with the Silverlake Vineyard just up the road and you've got a solid half-day out of town.
