When central Pattaya's water looks a bit suspect, this is where everyone goes to find the postcard version. Koh Larn — Coral Island — is 45 minutes by ferry from Bali Hai Pier, and it's been the local escape for decades for good reason. Six proper beaches, coral reefs you can actually snorkel, and turquoise water the mainland just doesn't have. Tawaen is the busy one: beach chairs, vendors, jet skis, the lot. Want quiet? Walk over to Samae or Nual and the crowds vanish. You can stay overnight in basic bungalows, but most people do it in a day and that works fine.
